Terms of Sale
As we have an open shop, there is a slight chance that books listed on our web site may have just sold; we update our site every evening, but all books are subject to prior sale. If you are seriously considering an item, please contact us to confirm availability or to place a book on hold for you.
For orders placed via our website, we accept payment via personal or business checks drawn on a US bank, all major credit and debit cards, or PayPal. For international orders that are over $1,000 we can provide bank wire information if you prefer.
Please note that for purchases made via check, we will wait until the check has cleared before we are able to post the book(s).
Deferred billing is available for institutions, please inquire for details.
For shipments within the state of California, state sales tax will apply.
Those with a valid reseller certificate on file will not be charged sales tax, please indicate such in the comments section when ordering.
Our standard method for shipping to domestic customers is USPS media mail service; the charge for a single book is $4.00, please add $2.00 for each additional book (when ordering a set, each volume counts as an individual book). For orders above $1,000 our standard is Priority Mail via the USPS and shipping is at cost.
For international orders, we use the USPS International First Class when possible, or Priority International when necessary. International shipping is billed at cost, we do not upcharge for our packaging; we will notify you separately of the cost via email.
If you prefer an alternate shipping company (i.e., UPS or FedEx) please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
If there is a need to receive your order quickly, please contact us and we will make all necessary arrangements to meet your needs.
Returns are accepted for any reason within 30 days of purchase, so long as the item is returned to us in the same condition as when sold.
