Theological Aesthetics of the Letterforms: Bridging the Worlds and Scripts With Calligraphy and Typography
Friends: forwarding this from a post I spotted on IG. Here is what they say about this event:
"Everyone is invited to the June Typophiles Online Event with Oleksiy Chekal, Joining Us Live from Ukraine.
Next Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 1 pm EDT.
Oleksiy Chekal will share his experience in working with and achieving harmony between typography and calligraphy using Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, and Syriac scripts for institutional clients of many faiths. The lecture will be a fascinating journey from lettering for Santuario Madonna del Miracolo in Rome, to avant-garde Kharkiv motifs, to quotations from Syriac saints, and Jewish liturgy.
Oleksiy Chekal is a Ukrainian graphic designer, calligrapher and art historian. He specializes in the complex tasks of cross-cultural design in a range of museum, scientific, and religious projects.
Free and open to the public."
