Peter Handke (b. 1942) "is an avant-garde Austrian playwright, novelist, poet, and essayist, one of the most original German-language writers in the second half of the 20th century" (n.b., quote from the online Britannica). He was awarded the Georg Büchner Prize in 1973 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2010.
This set is comprised of fourteen hardcover volumes presented in three sturdy slipcases, and includes: Erste Abteilung, Prosa (six volumes), Gedichte (one volume), Theatrestucke (two volumes), and Filmerzahlungen (included in the second volume); Zweite Abteilung, Aufsatze (two volumes); and Dritte Abteilung, Journale (three volumes).
___DESCRIPTION: All volumes bound in full cloth over boards, all with ribbon markers, octavo size (8 1/8" by 5 1/8"), approx. 11,400 pages, please note that all text is in German. Each volume with dust jacket, the fourteen enclosed in three slipcases.
___CONDITION: Volumes fine, the bindings clean and not worn, strong, square text blocks with solid hinges, the interiors clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, in appearance unread; note that Zweite Abteilung, Aufsatze, is still in the original shrinkwrap. The jackets fine overall, we noted one or two with minute wear. The slipcases fine overall, they are sturdy and therefore without tears to the seams, a modicum of wear mostly at the corners.
