Part III only of a four-volume work, this can be used as a stand-alone volume for the topic. Illustrations throughout and one chromolithograph (opposite p. 638).

___DESCRIPTION: Bound in bull brown cloth over cardstock covers, black lettering and designs on the front, back with designs in blind, yellow coated endpapers; octavo size (8 3/4" by 6 1/4"), pagination: [i-v] vi-viii [505] 506-783 (pagination continous from prior volume).

___CONDITION: A very good copy, the cloth mostly clean with a few light spots of soiling, straight corners with minimal rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, and the interior is clean and bright; prior owner markings include two private Ex-Libris plates on the front pastedown endpaper (one mounted on top of the other), light pencil notations on the top corner of the front free endpaper, light pencilled notations to the Contents pages with a few scattered light pencil notations throughout the text, and an old dampstain to the front free endpaper, flyleaf, and first four leaves of text (confined to the upper margins, not affecting text).
