Wendell Erdman Berry (b. 1934) was the first living writer to be inducted into the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame (in 2015). The winner of numerous awards and a prolific author, his writing "is grounded in the notion that one's work ought to be rooted in and responsive to one's place" (n.b., per Wiki).

This work, "Window Poems", contains twenty-seven poems which reflect the author's thoughts, grounded at the "Camp" with a many-paned window which, as Hall says in the Foreword: is "a grid with more than two dimensions, a way to measure & to frame anything of his choosing....What we've been witnessing is the transforming power of the presiding image, from random thought & perception in to picture, from time into timelessness..."
