This is one of the few books entirely concieved by printer/publisher Nicolas McDowall of The Old Stile Press. The text is taken from "The Public School Latin Primer," 1884, and was chosen by the author for its significance from childhood, and his memories of being truly mystified by the Latin people and their "dead language."
The photos are of a wall the McDowalls encountered on a family trip to Rome, which Nicolas thought was especially interesting and looked to him "like a giant abstract painting." McDowall explains on his website that, like the other two titles he produced, it "involves a contemplation of outside phenomena and the working of a mind."
Scarce: as of this writing, there are no other copies online.

___CONDITION: A fine copy, with clean boards, straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, like new.
