With a lovely illustration on the title page, with no attribution to the artist (sadly), either in the book or the Grabhorn Bibliography.
David Magee, author of the first bibliography, gave a rather back-handed compliment in his written description of this book: "With the exception of Bayes' Lyric Verse and Sonnets', 1921, a questionable Grabhorn production, this is the first Press book not set by hand."
___DESCRIPTION: Red cloth shelfback with gilt lettering with blue paper-covered boards, fore- and bottom edges rough-cut, illustration on the title page in the Greek style of a winged figure holding a shield and spear, printers' names on the copyright page, the first page of text has the title and author's name in red with a large initial capital; Caslon monotype on machine-made paper, binding size (9 3/8" by 6 1/4"), pagination: [i-iv] [1] 2-[48] [1, limitation statement], this one of 500 copies, this copy out-of-series.
___CONDITION: Fine overall, the cloth shelfback clean and without wear, the red colour deep (not sunned), the boards clean, straight corners with a hint of rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; a lovely example.
