The manuscript accounting ledger for Fontwell Park Race Track for the years 1967-1972. Fontwell Park is a horse racing park located in West Sussex, UK., established by Alfred Day in 1924 as a hurdles track. Queen Elizabeth II had her first winning horse at Fontwell in 1949 (per Wiki).

___DESCRIPTION: Bound in full green leather with blind debossed border to front and rear boards,gilt lettering on the spine, textblock edges marbled, marbled front and rear end papers, chart of accounts in manuscript to verso of front free end paper, 119 manuscript pages of accounting entries detailing income, expenses, capital, assets and liabilities of the enterprise, a 8 1/2" by 11 1/2" leaf of the Jan. 1973 Trial Balance laid in; elephant folio size, approximately 19 7/8" by 13 5/8", pagination: printed page numbers 501-1000, note that actual page count is 502, with two unumbered, 119 pages have actual entries.

___Condition: Volume is very good, with a strong, square text block, solid hinges, straight corners which have been rubbed through to the boards, moderate edgewear with boards exposed, front and rear boards with moderate rubbing, stain to top five inches of front board at the joint.
