A sketch of Wilde by Toulouse-Lautrec with a few paragraphs about Toulouse-Lauatrec taken from the "Recollections of William Rothenstein" (London, 1921). One of 75 copies printed by the Grabhorn Press for Arthur L. Bloomfield for presentation to the Roxburghe Club; Mr. Bloomfield served as Master of the Press for the Club from 1959 to 1961. Seemingly scarce in the trade, with none online as of this writing and no auction records, with twelve copies held by institutions.
___DESCRIPTION: Two large folio sheets folded once to form four leaves, edges uncut, the page with the sketch of Wilde loosely laid in; of heavy ivory paper, title in black on the front with initial capital in blue, the single page of text also with the intial capital in blue; approximately 13.25" tall, unpaginated with 4 pages excluding the wraps, the printer's statement on the recto of the back wrap; limited edition of 75 copies, unnumbered.
___CONDITION: Near fine, the wraps free of edgewear, the sewn binding strong, internally clean and bright, entirely free of prior owner markings; some light marginal soiling to the wraps and the wrap with a very small separation (about one-quarter of an inch) at the tail, else fine.
