The works of William Shakespeare (1564-1616) continue to inspire and delight both the average reader as well as provide food for continued scholarly study. The Riverside Shakespeare is the name given to a series of editions of Shakespeare's complete works, first published in 1883/1901, edited by Richard Grant.
"A new version was published in 1974 as a full scholarly edition, presenting each of the plays with introductions and textual notes...A revised edition was published....which is notable for being the first major complete works edition to include the disputed play 'Edward III' " (n.b., info on the Riverside Shakespeare and quote from Wiki). The full number line on the copyright page indicates this to be the first printing of this revised edition.

___CONDITION: Volumes fine, with clean binding, straight corners without rubbing, strong, square text blocks with solid hinges, the interiors are clean and bright, and both volumes entirely free of prior owner markings; the sole condition issue we see is light wrinkling to the first few pages of each volume; as there is no evidence of damp or other mis-handling, this appears to be due to the binding process. The slipcase is near fine, strong and sturdy, with a few areas of very light wear/wrinkling to the paper covering.
___POSTAGE: Please note that this is an extremely heavy set and therefore additional postage will apply; please inquire for details.
