___DESCRIPTION: Half navy leather with dark blue cloth boards, decorative gilt bands along the edges of the leather on the front and rear boards, the spine with five raised bands, gilt rules and ornaments, and gilt lettering, endpapers featuring a key to the map plates, 125 colour map plates, original navy ribbon marker; elephant folio (18" by 12.5"), pagination: [1-5] 6-67  (Plates) [i] ii-iii 1-125 (Index)  2-223 . Housed in a slipcase covered in navy cloth, with gilt lettering and ruled borders on the front board.
___CONDITION: A fine copy; the covers clean, the corners straight and unrubbed, the binding tight with solid hinges, the interior clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; slight bump in the leather near the front joint at the head and tail of the spine, else fine. The slipcase is fine, strong and sturdy, clean but for a few specks of soiling to the bottom edge, without wear but for a few shallow bumps to the top edge.
