___DESCRIPTION: "The Religious Orders in England": Vol. I, "The Old Orders, 1216-1340", "The Friars 1216-1340", "The Monasteries and their World", pub. 1960, approx. 350 pp.; Vol. II, "The End of the Middle Ages", pub. 1957, approx. 407 pp.; Vol. III, "The Tudor Age", pub. 1961, approx. 522 pp.; and "The Monastic Order in England", pub. 1963, the Second Edition, with additional material, approx. 780 pp. All volumes bound in black cloth over boards with gilt lettering stamped on spines, all are octavo size (10" by 6 1/2"). The dust jackets with summary of book on front flap, reviews on rear flap and other books by publisher listed on rear cover.

___CONDITION: Volumes are near fine, with clean boards, the corners without rubbing, strong, square text blocks with solid hinges, the interiors clean, and entirely free of prior owner markings; fore-edges are dusty and pages are toned, Vol. III has one corner bumped otherwise the corners are straight. Dust jackets are very good, clean, with minimal edgewear; one 1/4" closed tear to Vol. II at the head of the spine.
