As such, continental philosophy emerges as a tradition distinct from the tradition that has identified itself as 'analytic' or 'Anglo-American,'...".

The general editor, Alan D. Schrift, is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at Grinnell College; his scholarship " focuses on 19th- and 20th-century French and German philosophy"; the author of many works, in 2019 he was elected to a three-year term as the Executive Co-Director of the Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy (SPEP), the world’s largest scholarly organization focusing on European philosophy" (n.b., from the web site of Grinnell College).

___DESCRIPTION: Eight volumes (complete set), bound in full textured paper over boards, a red "label" with silver lettering and border on the front, similar "label" on the spine with the volume number, silver lettering on the spine; octavo size (9 3/8" by 6 3/8"), approximately 3040 pp. (page count from the web site of the University of Chicago Press).

___CONDITION: Volumes uniformly fine, with clean boards, straight corners without rubbing, strong, square text blocks with solid hinges, the interiors clean and bright, and the set entirely free of prior owner markings; literally as new, we removed it from the shrink-wrap in order to catalogue and photograph.
