(New York City): (Collectors Reprints, Inc.), (1993). Limited Edition. Hardcover. One of 2500 copies, duodecimo size, 156 pp. Fine. Item #CNJL2307

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) is considered one of America's greatest poets; although few of her poems were published during her life, her work was met with great acclaim upon the publication of the first collection of poems four years after her death.

This publication is a facsimile of that first edition, wonderfully reproduced at The Stinehour Press using letterpress plates which were made directly from a copy of the first issue of the first edition.

___DESCRIPTION: Quarter grey cloth with gilt lettering and decoration stamped onto the spine over boards covered in white cloth, gilt lettering and a silver decoration stamped onto the front, top edge gilt, white ribbon marker; duedecimo size (7 1/8" by 5"), pagination: [i-iii] iv-xii [5 pp.] 14-152. In a glassine wrapper, accompanied by a small ivory cardstock notecard with the cover decoration and prelude printed on the front, on the inside a note stating "Printed for subscribers to The Library of American Poets".

___CONDITION: Fine, with clean boards, straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; the volume appears unread and still has that "tight" feel; the glassine also fine, clean and without wear, as is the notecard. The entire production mint, as it came from the publisher.

___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard does not always cover costs; please inquire for details.
