Nicholas Mosley (1923-2017), 3rd Baron Ravensdale, 7th Baronet, was graced with Diana Mitford as step-mother at the age of nine. He developed a stammer and was treated by Lionel Logue - the very same therapist who would treat King George VI, which story was told in the 2010 film "The King's Speech" which garnered multiple awards on both sides of "the pond".

Mosley authored at least twenty novels, including "Hopeful Monsters" (1990) which won the Whitbread Book of the Year award. This novel, "Judith", is the third novel in "Catastrophe Practice", which is "based on the interlocking fortuntes of the characters" (n.b., per DJ flap).
