Islamic Art and Architecture, 650 - 1250 [with] The Art and Architecture of Islam, 1250-1800; Pelican History of Art

New Haven: Yale University Press, 1995-2001. First Edition. Hardcover. Two volumes (covering 650 CE to 1250 CE), quarto size, 723 pp., second volume in slipcase. Fine / fine. Item #CNJL2226

The symmetry and beauty of Islamic art and architecture has been admired for centuries; these two volumes, while published separately, are being offered as a set. It does not appear as though the Press has (at least, not yet) published a third volume, so as of this date, these two volumes constitute a complete set.

Published by the Yale University Press with their attention to quality and detail, the first volume (650 to 1250) is first edition by the Yale University Press, the first printing, published in 2001; the second volume (1250 to 1800) is the first printing of the 1995 corrected edition (first published in 1994). Both volumes out of print in hardcover, per the web site of the Press.
