New York: Time, Inc., 1954. Wraps. Quarto size, 144 pp. Near fine. Item #210503001
For decades sports fans eagerly awaited the weekly arrival of "Sports Illustrated" in their mailboxes. The best sports writers covered all sports major and minor and offered their insights on all matters. Of course football, baseball and basketball were extensively covered, but boxing, the Olympics, motor racing, horse racing and many others were also covered. What really brought the magazine to prominence was the level of photography which accompanied each article.
___DESCRIPTION: Bound in pictorial stapled wraps, title in orange on the front wrap, three folding pages of baseball cards attached; quarto size (11.5" by 8.25"), pagination: 1-144. Original pictorial mailing envelope with addresses label depicting multiple sports in bright colours.
