The Rev. Francis Orpen Morris (1810-1893), according to Wiki, was "notable as [a] 'parson-naturalist' (ornithologist and entomologist) and as the author of many children's books and books on natural history and heritage buildings. He was a pioneer of the movement to protect birds from the plume trade and was a co-founder of the Plumage League." In addition to this book, the Rev. Morris published other books on the world of nature including moths and butterflies.
This set with all 358 hand-coloured plates; please note that due to two plates both being numbered "46", the final plate is numbered "357", however, all 358 plates are present. In addition, what should be plates 272 through 275 are erroneously numbered 264 through 267 (we checked and these are not duplicates of the actual plates 264-267).
