Award-winning author Robert Crais (b. 1953) began his career as a screenwriter for Hollywood, earning a nomination for an Emmy Award for his work on shows such as "Hill Street Blues", "Cagney & Lacey", and "Miami Vice".

This work, "The Monkey's Raincoat", was his first novel, originally published in paperback form in 1987; it earned him the 1988 Anthony Award for "Best Paperback Original" among other awards. It was later published in hardback in Britain in 1989; this is the first printing of the first US publication in hardback, signed by Robert Crais on the title page.

___CONDITION: Fine, with clean boards, perfectly straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, as new. The unclipped dust jacket just a shade below fine, clean, the colours bright, no sunning; a modicum of very light wear, else fine.
