Robert Rick McCammon (b. 1952) is the author of three NY Times bestsellers and has been extremely influential in the growth and development of American horror literature. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the 2012 Bram Stoker Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2008 Grand Master Award, among others.

This work, "They Thirst", "is a vampire novel on an epic scale, as the Undead lay claim to the city of Los Angeles" (n.b., from dust jacket flap). With illustrations by Wendy Snow-Lang and her husband, Charles Lang, who are both well-known for their sci-fi and horror illustrations.

Originally published as a paperback in May of 1981, the first hardcover edition was published in the UK in May of 1990. This deluxe, signed hardcover edition, with illustrations by the Langs, was issued in April of 1991 simultaneously with the Dark Harvest trade edition.

Slipcase of sturdy cardboard covered with plain red cloth.

___CONDITION: A fine copy; the binding clean and without blemish, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the corners straight and unrubbed, the interior clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, as new. The dust jacket also fine, unclipped, clean with the colours bright, absolutely no sunning and free of wear. The slipcase fine as well, strong and sturdy, clean and without wear; overall an as-new example.
