The Norse Myths

New York: Pantheon Books, (1980). First Edition. Hardcover. First printing of the US edition, octavo size, 319 pp. Fine / near fine. Item #19031731

This collection of Norse myths is gathered by children's author and translator Kevin Crossley-Holland (b. 1941), best known for his historical novels in the Arthur trilogy and as well as translating the Old English epic poem "Beowulf"; here he presents numerous myths in the Norse cycle, from creation to the peak of the cycle, to death and rebirth, as the cycle and the earth continue on. Crossley-Holland presents an engaging read of these classic stories, full of love and loss, and of the beauty of the world's endurance.
