Mother London

London: Secker & Warburg, (1988). First Edition. Hardcover. First printing, octavo size, 506 pp., signed by Michael Moorcock. Fine / near fine. Item #19031718

The 1950s and 1960s saw a burgeoning in the genre of science fiction, with authors such as J. G. Ballard and Ursula K. Le Guin creating works in an experimental style and emphasising social commentary and literary merit; Michael Moorcock (b. 1939) is a prominent writer who was part of the New Wave science fiction movement, and as editor of "New Worlds" magazine he published and promoted many new writers in the genre.

"Mother London", although not strictly science fiction, examines the city of London as experienced by three different characters, a nonlinear series of episodic gleamings into the human psyche.
