This miniature book contains a brief, humorous piece on smoking tobacco, with simple and delightful illustrations on every other page, by J. R. Levien, who created numerous miniature books, often less than two inches tall, on a variety of subjects. Scarce, as none are currently online at the time of this writing; there are no auction records, and OCLC locates four copies.
___DESCRIPTION: Full black leather with a gilt illustration on the front board of a Native American (in headdress) smoking a pipe, light blue endpapers, line drawings in black throughout, alternating with the text; miniature book (1.25" by 1"), 21 unnumbered pages.
___CONDITION: Volume is better than very good, with clean boards, straight corners, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; some rubbing to the joints and head and tail of the spine, and one of the pages toward the end has a small crease at the top right corner.
