Frank Herbert's (1920-1986) "Dune", although not an instant success, is widely considered one of the greatest science fiction works and it is the best-selling science fiction book of all time; the "Dune" series has remained immensely popular and has exerted a significant influence on the science fiction genre. "Heretics of Dune" is the fifth of the six books Herbert wrote, and like his other works, examines the ramifications of political and social conflict in a world set thousands of years in the future.
This volume is the first edition, printed as a limited edition and signed by the author, housed in a lovely matching slipcase.

In a slipcase covered in aubergine cloth, issued without a dust jacket.
___CONDITION: Volume is near fine, with clean boards, straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; very faint rubbing to the edges and head of the spine, a few spots of soiling to the rear board, else fine. The slipcase is near fine, strong and sturdy, clean overall with a few stray marks, with some rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to a few of the corners, else fine.
