Written for bookbinders and bookcollectors alike, this volume details the processes of bookbinding, particularly leather binding, by world-renowned bookbinder Kerstin Tini Miura; Miura demonstrates the French technique of bookbinding, many aspects of which have not been documented before, as the techniques are usually passed down from teacher to student. A highly skilled bookbinder who has exhibited around the world and is the recipient of several bookbinding awards, Miura reveals her own process as well as a love of books, and she shows the benefits of a gorgeous and well-executed binding, not only to protect valuable books but also to showcase the beauty of the book as object.
