London: Chapman & Hall, LD. 1902. Hardcover. Two volumes (complete), octavo size, 544 pp. Very good. Item #17073003
William Giuseppe Gulland (d. 1906) spent most of his life as a merchant in the East where he developed an interest in Chinese porcelain. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London contains over 700 pieces of porcelain illustrative of the different kinds of glazes used by Chinese factories, which were originally from his personal collection (n. b., info from the V&A website). These two volumes are the efforts of Gulland to aid anyone interested in collecting Chinese porcelain, with a list of terms and descriptions of items, accompanied by black-and-white photographs of a variety of pieces.
