The first printings of a set of three softbound books, "The Disrespectful Summons", "The Abandoned Sock", and "The Lost Lions", each told and illustrated in Gorey's inimitable style.
___DESCRIPTION: All three volumes softbound with pictorial wrappers, stapled, limitation statement on verso of title pages; oblong twentyfourmo size (5" by 6"), each with 32 unnumbered pages, one of 500 copies, of a total edition of 526 (26 being lettered and signed by Gorey; these each one of the 500 not lettered nor signed). Held in a white envelope with publisher's printing on the upper left front corner.
___CONDITION: Volumes are each fine, the binding is strong, the pages clean and crisp, all are free of prior owner markings; one volume (The Lost Lions) has a very small spot of soiling towards the top of the front wrap in the margin surrounding the cover illustration, and all three have some dustiness to the top and fore-edges, else fine. The envelope is very good, it is sturdy and whole but there is some light soiling and creasing; a prior owner or prior bookseller wrote "7.50" in pencil at the upper right-hand corner, and it has a couple of very short closed tears.
