Erica Jong (born 1942) is perhaps best known for her first novel, "Fear of Flying", which was published in 1973 and was highly controversial for its attitudes towards female sexuality. However, Ms. Jong is also a published author of non-fiction and poetry. This book was her first book of poetry, published in 1971, although several of the books were previously published in various periodicals; it opens with the phrase "Poetry, the creative act, the archtypal sexual act. Sexuality is poetry" (Norman O. Brown).
This volume is an uncorrected proof of the book (with page numbers hand-written in) with the preliminary page stating "These UNREVISED UNCORRECTED PROOFS of a book which will be published some months from now, are for the use of staff members of CRANE DUPLICATING SERVICE, INC. Barnstable, Massachusetts".

___CONDITION: Overall very good, the card covers show some light edgewear and soiling, the plastic comb is holding well with only one ring broken, the interior is clean and bright, and the volume is free of prior owner markings.
