This edition is a handsome nineteenth century reprint of David Hume's (1711-1776) "The History of England", of which volume one was first published in 1754. For any lover of British history, this is the way to read it; through the eyes of the 18th century, when Britain ruled the world, replete with both full-page plates as well as black and white illustrations set within the text on many pages.

___CONDITION: A very good/near fine copy, with all plates intact/complete, internally bright with minimal foxing, corners straight, text block is square, except for some rubbing to the edges this is a near fine set.
